I’m a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Informatics at Indiana University, specializing in relationships between technology, the environment, and political-economic power. I study how sociotechnical systems embody specific ways of knowing and governing the world, e.g. how they organize authority and meaning, whose knowledge and interests they recognize, and under what conditions communities can shape and control forces that affect them. My research on how digital and media technologies bear on socioecological concerns, culture, labor, and democratic self-governance has appeared in Science, Technology, & Human Values, New Media & Society, and Big Data & Society.
